July Meetup - Hello, I’m new here – a first-time speaker event

Hello, I’m new here – a first-time speaker event.

At Natter Community we want to provide our community with a selection of events that you can either attend or get involved with. One area we want to support and encourage is enabling people from our community to share their stories.

In July we’ll kick-off our first-time speaker events, which will include a selection of lightning talks from people new to public speaking. ⚡

We can learn from people with industry experience but also take inspiring insights from those at the start of their journey and learning their craft.

Join us on July 11th at Street Group, where Fibria Novytasari, Hanah Durrani, Alireza Tajer and Dani Swift take to the stage. You’ll also get to hear from a few Natter volunteers.

This is a smaller event so tickets are limited. Come along and show your support.

Fibria Novytasari - Your design is cool, but can everyone use it?
We’ve all seen designs which are bold and cool. But how effective are they if people can’t use it? In this talk Fi shares her thoughts on accessible design and how we can introduce checks into our design process to ensure our experiences are useable as well as cool.

Hanah Durrani - Lessons from my journey into UX
In this talk I’ll share personal stories from my pathway into UX, improving my confidence and how learning to code has enhanced my design skills.

Alireza Tajer - Connecting the Dots Backwards: From Architecture to Product Design
In this talk, I will share my diverse experiences and how each has contributed to my journey as a product designer. I will also emphasize that while tools are just tools and constantly changing, the core principles of good design and creativity depend on the designer and their application.
